We are located on 14th and Valencia streets, the heart of the city of San Francisco. We’resurrounded by the Mission/Dolores, Castro and Hayes Valley neighborhoods in an area full of new coffee shops, art galleries, restaurants, parks and Yoga studios.
Besides our Yoga program we also provide a safe, clean and beautiful space to relax before and after class. Whether it is in our lounge or in our bamboo garden the chances of meeting like-minded people or new friends are high. There’s always a friendly community vibe at AstaYoga and you are welcome in!

- At Asta Yoga we approach our teachings with the philosophy that each person is in control and responsible for their growth as human and spiritual beings, we will give enough tools and foundation to start building a strong yoga practice focused on self-examination and improvement in order to create positive changes in the body, mind, and the world. Through yoga, we teach that we are what we choose to be.
- We offer classes inspired by the Ashtanga Vinyasa System for all levels of students, from the very beginner to advanced. Our objective is to help you reach your personal, physical and spiritual goals through this style of yoga. We also offer Pilates classes and our repertoire is constantly growing.
- We like to have a student/teacher relationship with our members. The way this happens is by getting to know each other through classes and other interactions. We like to treat everyone as equal and on a first name basis regardless of age, level of practice, race, sexual preference or social status.
- The first time student should feel relaxed and welcome to our studio. Feel free to ask us any questions.
- The way we approach you as a new student is to teach you the basics, but then give you some space in the beginning to let you figure things out on your own. The more you attend to our classes the more attention you’ll get as the instructor will get to know you and your level of practice. Hands on adjustments and advice about your practice will surge later when more raport is developed.
- Towels and mats are available for a small fee (complementary for members or class card holders), however owning a mat is highly recommended. We have a unisex changing room with two on-the-go stalls. And a private washroom. There are no showers in our facilities.
- Bikes can be brought into the studio. (SFMTA installing bike racks outside the studio soon!)
- Children and well behaved dogs are welcome to wait and/or play in the lobby
Our Yoga approach is simple and our practice space is safe and comfortable. The devotion is to yourself and the altar is within you. Our Dharma is service to the community bringing people together for a higher purpose. To find Peace and the understanding of Unity with each other. We’re all the same… Our mission at Asta Yoga is to guide people in their self-discovery experience and to help them make it a pleasant and positive one.
NO YOGA, NO PEACE… KNOW YOGA, KNOW PEACE
