Vinyasa ABC’s with Miranda – 01.07.2012

Ashtanga Vinyasa is designed to bring back flexibility, strength and balance to the body.  Reshaping hands and feet, limbs and spinal column. Improving our posture, our breathing and mind processes through a series of postures linked with movement.  Everything begins with your breath and with the placement and alignment of your hands and feet as you move on the mat.

In this workshop you’ll learn about the importance of your breath and understand how to engage in ujjayi pranayama (victorious breath technique) and to synchronize breath and movement. You’ll also be advised on better posture and different variations for your practice.  How to utilize the core to protect the lower back from unnecessary stress and pain with an introduction to pilates.  How to strengthen the arms and upper body by correcting your push-ups (chaturanga). And other tips tailored to your own specific case.

This is an excellent workshop for those new to vinyasa, beginners and for those looking to improve or deepen their practice.
